BGC Canada

Case study: A virtual event experience to bring together Canada’s youth

The National Youth Forum goes virtual

BGC Canada is a national, nonprofit organization that supports local Boys and Girls Clubs through specialized programs. They approached Maven to put together a virtual National Youth Forum. The forum would take place over 6 days, where over 40 Clubs from across Canada would participate in after-school activities and social media challenges throughout the week. A nationwide live virtual event would then complete the forum on the last day.

Building a custom virtual event platform

Maven developed a custom website for the event where Clubs could access all of the event information, view their daily programs, and tune into the live event on the last day. The website was also where Clubs submitted their daily social entries to participate in the challenges.

Taking the National Youth Forum live

One of the biggest elements of the forum was the live broadcast where Youth, Clubs, and speakers would come together to showcase the week’s activities and share with one another. To make the broadcast a success, Maven worked to build a custom virtual platform, train and coordinate the Youth Council and participating speakers, edit highlight videos, and put together a detailed run of show that would ensure the Q&A sessions and speaker sessions went off without a hitch.

A bilingual broadcast

All of the streaming for the event was done in both English and French to ensure all Clubs across Canada could participate. We utilized a user-friendly platform with two simple buttons for audience members to make their language selection.

Stronger connections

We are so proud of what we were able to build with BGC Canada. Talent showcases, learning opportunities, stronger connections, and memories to last a lifetime.
